Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy describes information handled by the SurveyMint website, account dashboard, survey builder, response exchange, checkout, and inquiry forms. A survey creator may also provide terms or a privacy notice for a particular survey; review that notice before responding.

2. Information handled by SurveyMint

2.1 Account and profile data

• Email address, name, email-verification state, and account timestamps
• A password hash; SurveyMint does not store the password as readable text
• Profile fields you submit, which may include academic, demographic, language, education, and occupation information
• Notification, survey-length, and category preferences
• Credit balance and credit transaction history

2.2 Surveys, responses, and exchange activity

• Survey titles, descriptions, questions, settings, and status
• Answers and completion information submitted to surveys
• Response metadata such as timestamps, completion time, user agent, referrer, and network address where collected by the response flow
• Exchange campaign settings, eligibility criteria, participation, and credit rewards

2.3 Billing and communications

• Order amount, currency, package, credit quantity, payment status, and Stripe customer or checkout identifiers
• Stripe hosts the card-entry page; SurveyMint does not collect card numbers in its own checkout form
• Information submitted through quote forms, chat handoff, support email, and other communications

3. Why the information is used

• Create and secure accounts and sessions
• Provide survey creation, publishing, response, and export features
• Check exchange eligibility, prevent duplicate participation, and apply credit rewards
• Create checkout sessions, reconcile payment events, and credit orders
• Deliver verification, password-reset, billing, and inquiry emails
• Apply request limits, investigate errors, and protect the service
• Respond to support, project, privacy, or legal requests

4. Who may receive information

• Survey creators: creators can review answers and response information submitted to their surveys.
• Infrastructure providers: the application and application and database are hosted through Railway.
• Payment provider: Stripe processes checkout and sends payment status information to SurveyMint.
• Email provider: Resend processes email delivery details for messages sent by SurveyMint.
• Legal or safety disclosures: information may be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
• Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of relevant assets, subject to applicable obligations.

Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy notices. Their processing locations and retention practices are not controlled by this application page.

5. Security and session information

SurveyMint implements application controls including password hashing, hashed session and recovery tokens, expiring sessions, server-side authorization, request limits, and payment-event verification. These controls reduce risk but do not guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention and account deletion

SurveyMint does not publish one fixed retention period for every data category. Records may be kept while an account or survey is active and for periods reasonably needed for billing reconciliation, security, disputes, service integrity, or legal obligations.

You can submit or cancel an account-deletion request from your profile. A request enters a review and processing workflow; some records may need to be retained or anonymized rather than immediately removed.

7. Privacy choices and requests

You can update many profile fields and notification preferences from the dashboard. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection.

8. International processing

SurveyMint and its infrastructure, payment, or email providers may process information in countries other than your own. Contact SurveyMint if you need information about the providers used for a privacy assessment.

9. Age limitation

SurveyMint accounts are intended for people who are at least 18. If you believe a person under 18 created an account or submitted personal data, contact SurveyMint at hi@surveymint.io.

10. Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the product or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the current published version.
