Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
1. Current application cookie
SurveyMint sets one first-party authentication cookie after a successful sign-in or signup. The cookie carries an opaque session token so the server can associate requests with the signed-in account.
| Purpose | Maximum age | Attributes |
|---|---|---|
| Signed-in session | 7 days | HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax, Secure in production, Path=/ |
2. What the cookie does not contain
The cookie does not contain your password, survey answers, profile fields, or card number. The server stores a hash of the session token with its account association and expiration time.
3. Expiration and sign-out
The session cookie has a maximum age of seven days. Server-side sessions also expire, and password changes invalidate the account's existing sessions. Signing out asks the browser to remove the cookie and removes the corresponding server session.
Blocking this cookie prevents signed-in account and dashboard features from working.
4. Analytics and advertising cookies
The current SurveyMint application does not implement Google Analytics, Mixpanel, A/B-testing, advertising, or preference cookies. If that changes, this policy should be updated before those tools are enabled.
5. Stripe checkout
When you continue to payment, the card-entry page is hosted by Stripe. Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies on its own checkout domain under Stripe's terms and privacy documentation. Those are not set by the SurveyMint application page.
6. Browser controls
Browsers generally let you view, block, or delete site data. The location of those controls varies by browser. If you delete or block the SurveyMint session cookie, you will need to sign in again and dashboard features may be unavailable until cookies are allowed.
7. Policy changes
This policy may be updated when SurveyMint changes its use of cookies or similar browser storage. The date at the top identifies the current published version.
